The Klong Prao Beach (also written Khlong Prao Beach, Khlong Phrao Beach or Klong Praow Beach) is divided by 2 rivers in 3 sections. Koh Chang Tropicana Resort & Spa is located in the South of the middle section directly at the estuary of the river "Klong Plu". The luxurious holiday resort is one of Koh Chang’s major resorts by area and number of rooms. The extensive area stretches from Klong Prao Beach in the West far towards the island road that passes several hundred metres away in the East.   There are 2 large swimming pools on the spacious area of Koh Chang Tropicana Resort & Spa: The "Beach Pool", directly on the beach, and "The Splash" between the hotel buildings in the eastern part of the holiday resort.   On the left the "Beach Swimming Pool” On the right "The Splash" in the East, located at the hotel buildings     The "Sea Breeze Restaurant" right at the beach Tropicana’s "Sunset Bar"   Directly at the beach just a few metres from the "Beach Pool" is the popular "Sea Breeze Restaurant" that serves Thai-, European and seafood dishes. Also cakes and freshly prepared desserts are offered. One can eat and drink either in the roofed interior or outside on the spacious wooden open air terrace, which is lined by coconut trees. In the evenings rules the BBQ here with a wide selection of fresh meat and seafood specialities. The "Beach Swimming Pool”, directly at Klong Praow Beach     Next to the "Sea Breeze Restaurant" at the estuary of the "Klong Plu" River is the Thai styled "Sunset Bar”, that offers fresh fruit juices and shakes, besides great long drinks and cocktails to finally arrive in tropical paradise. The round "Beach Pool" with its integrated pool bar, lies between the "Sea Breeze Restaurant" and the "Sunset Bar"; enjoy your drink with a great view sitting in the shallow waters under its roof. In the pool is a whirlpool and a child basin and it is spaciously surrounded by comfortable beach couches and parasols for the guests of the Koh Chang Tropicana Resort & Spa. There are also showers, changing rooms and a canopied pavilion directly at the "Beach Pool".     The swimming pool "The Splash" at the hotel buildings of the Koh Chang Tropicana Resort & Spa In the eastern part of the holiday resort between the "Superior Wing" hotel complexes is the second, with 15 by 25 metres even larger swimming pool "The Splash". There are spectacular sub-water lights at night, 2 large whirlpools, a water massage pool and an extra whirlpool for kids besides showers, changing rooms, beach couches and parasols. Around "The Splash" pool there are some canopied pavilions where you can flee the sun, read, relax or enjoy a Traditional Thai Massage. The same service as in "Pool Bar” is offered here in the "Wet Pool Bar”.     On the bridge between lobby and tropical garden   In the tropical gardens of the Koh Chang Tropicana Resort & Spa   Around the lush well cultivated tropical garden, that spreads in the western part from the lobby with reception towards the beach, is the resort’s "Deluxe Wing” with its villas and suites. Unlike many other resorts on the island, there is plenty of space in between these buildings, where wide areas of lawn interspersed with flowers, bushes and trees form this set of bungalows. On the way from the garden to the "Beach Pool” pass a pond with a couple of villas around it. In the eastern part of the resort around the "Splash Pool" are the two storey buildings of the "Superior Wing” with "The Springs” restaurant, just next to two ponds with a wooden bridge. There is also an open space for all kind of activities, and "The Sand Spa” offering Traditional Thai Massages and various other treatments including herbal and aroma massages. If you are tempted, take a Yoga class lead by an Indian trained teacher. You can also book all your trips and tours here.   Or rent a kayak, there are a couple of untouched islands just within reach. Please be careful, it might take much longer to go and come back than you estimate. Enough water and sunscreen is essential.   "The Tropics” conference centre Next to the fully equipped conference building "The Tropics" with space for up to 240 persons is, conveniently located, a large parking lot with security guards around the clock. In the 2 wings of the Tropicana Resort, guests can choose from 156 rooms in the "Superior Wing” and the "Deluxe Wing” in 5 different categories, which differ in location and décor and size.
