| Location: The
Koh Rayang Resort
is located on Ko Rayang Nok, a few hundred metres in
front of the southwest coast of Ko Mak, approximately
25 kilometres southeast of Bang Bao Bay (southern end
of Ko Chang) and about 15 kilometres northwest of Ko

There are 14 detached bungalows
at the Koh Rayang Resort.
They are dispersed from the bottom of the hill all over
the shady slope.
The whole bungalow
resort was renovated in 2006 /
2007. All bungalows
have a private balcony, double or single beds, ventilators
and bathrooms with showers and European toilets. Towels
are provided from the Koh
Rayang Resort.
There are 7 single bungalows
and 7 double bungalows.
The double bungalows
with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and 1 shared terrace are
ideal for families. |

All bungalows
are built from wood. Due to noise reduction and better
climates the Thai typical palm roofs are put over the
normal roofs.
In the restaurant you can enjouy Thai specialities and
fresh seafood while watching the beautiful view over
Ko Mak.
Some European dishes are also available including BBQ
and a European breakfast.
On the hill behind the restaurant there is a beautiful,
romantic viewpoint where you can enjoy your candlelight
dinner undisturbed … |

Also kayaks can be rented
at the Koh Rayang Resort
to discover this beautiful island.
Snorkel equipment can also be rented and the guests
can travel to Ko Mak
via ferry for a relaxing day trip.
In the building beside the restaurant (picture on the
right hand side) you can play tabletennis, books and
games can be rented and films can be viewed there.
Wireless internet will be available early 2008 and in
the Spa section you can enjoy traditional Thai massage.
Electricity is not available at night time so a torch
is usefull! |

Outside Peak Season (Dec.
16th - Jan. 15th) there is the possibility of renting
the entire island
exclusively. Ko Rayang
is the perfect place for unforgettable private events
like weddings, birthday parties or other special occasions.
Price for all Bungalows and max. 40 persons only 30.000
Baht!

Arrival &
Departure to & from Koh
Rayang Resort
To get to the Koh
Rayang Resort normally you first
have to reach Ko
Mak. From the pier at the Makathanee
Resort (see: Makathanee
Resort) you will be brought
by boat to Ko Rayang.
Ko Mak
can be reached either from Baan Bang Bao in the south
of Ko Chang
or from Laem Ngop Pier at the mainland.
Ferries from Ko
Chang (Baan
Bang Bao Pier):
From November to May there are 2 daily Island-Hopper
boats starting from Baan Bang Bao (south of Ko
Chang) to Ko
Mak and back. For the exact departure
times have a look at the website: Island-Hopper.
There are other boats from Baan Bang Bao to Ko
Maak as well.
Ferries from the mainland
(Laem Ngop Pier, also
called Khrom Luang Pier):
At 9.30 am, 11 am, 1.30 pm and 4 pm speedboats leave
the mainland from the Laem Ngop pier. The boats will
bring you to Ko Mak,
duration about 1 hour. The times for the return trips
are available in all resorts on Ko
Mak.
There are also several daily fishing boats to Ko
Mak, duration about 3 hours.
Because the departure and arrival times change quite
often, please ask at the Laem Ngop Pier.
(October 2007. All information refer
to high-season between November and May. Occasionally,
due to high waves, the boats are unable to leave.
Depending on the weather conditions, some boats may
not leave to Ko Mak
in low-season between June and October.) |
If you want to come directly from Bangkok
to Ko Mak and Ko
Rayang you have to start early
to avoid spending a night on Ko
Chang or at the mainland. If you
come by plane you have to get the morning flight, otherwise
you will not reach Ko
Mak and the Koh
Rayang Resort at the same day.
Until end of 2007 the taxis waiting at the airport in
Trat only drove directly to Ko Chang but not to Laem
Ngop Pier where the boats to Ko
Mak leave. Then you either have
to get a taxi on your own or book the pickup
service offered from Koh
Rayang Resort: for 1500.-
Baht per person you will be picked up by private
taxi at the airport and brought directly to Koh
Rayang Resort - please don't forget
to mention it on the booking form.
(The pickup service has to be paid on-site.) |
On request we can organize the boat
transfer from Ko Chang
to Ko Mak
Pier (one way: 400 THB, return: 800 THB), from where
it is easy
to reach Ko Rayang. Just type it into the field "Others"
on the Hotel-Reservation
