This dream beach is just a few hundred metres away and can be reached with a short walk. The“Khao Beach” at the south coast of Ko Mak is also only a few hundred metres away. (More information with photographs, panorama pictures and virtual reality about both beaches: “The west coast of Ko Mak” and “The south coast of Ko Mak”.)     The garden behind the Koh Mak Villa In front of the lower floor   The 2-storey Koh Mak Villa, where the rooms and the 2 whirlpools are situated, is built in a U-shape. In the 1-storey building directly next door the bistro and the terrace is located. In the well-kept tropical garden with the wonderful view, there are parasols and sun chairs for your relaxation. Also two roofed areas are built so even if it rains you can stay outside and enjoy the tropical storm (right picture). Behind the Koh Mak Villa is a big garden area where you can play ball games, read or just relax while watching the beautiful view to Ko Kood. On the terrace you have a fantastic view over the Suan Yai Bay, to Ko Kham and to Ko Chang and other islands in the background. You can enjoy Thai specialities, fresh seafood, some European dishes and a European breakfast in the restauant of the Goodtime Resort, located next door to the Koh Mak Villa (Goodtime Resort). In the Koh Mak Villa you have the choice of 2 different room categories: the Double Rooms and the Panorama Suites.   The two Double Rooms are located on the lower floor. They have a big double bed and air conditioning, a spacious bathroom with hot water shower and European toilet. The tropical garden with the wonderfull view is located directly in front of them.   One of the Double Rooms Bathroom of a Double Room Both Panorama Suites have 2 storeys. In the lower floor there is a small kitchen with refrigerator. The big room is used as the living room, or max. 2 extra beds for children under 12 years can be ordered free of charge for it.   The bedroom with a double bed and the bathroom with European toilet and hot water shower are situated on the upper floor. The walls of both storeys are built with dark glass and are equipped with air-conditioning. The view from the bedroom into Aow Suan Yai is absolutely fantastic – explaining the reason behind the suites name: Panorama Suite!   View from the bedroom of a Panorama Suite Bedroom of a Panorama Suite Wireless internet access is available, motorbikes can be rented and traditional Thai massage is also available. At the beaches surfboards and kayaks can be rented, and snorkel or boattrips can be booked. And, if you want, you can also explore this wonderful island on foot or by rented scooters. (More information about Ko Mak:“Ko Mak - Worth knowing”.)   Bathroom of a Panorama Suite Arrival & Departure to & from Koh Mak Villa Ko Mak can be reached either from Baan Bang Bao in the south of Ko Chang or from Laem Ngop Pier at the mainland. Ferries from Ko Chang (Baan Bang Bao Pier): From November to May there are 2 daily Island-Hopper boats starting from Baan Bang Bao (south of Ko Chang) to Ko Mak and back. For the exact departure times have a look at the website: Island-Hopper. There are other boats from Baan Bang Bao to Ko Maak as well. Ferries from the mainland (Laem Ngop Pier, also called Khrom Luang Pier): At 9.30 am, 11 am, 1.30 pm and 4 pm speedboats leave the mainland from the Laem Ngop pier. The boats will bring you to Ko Mak, duration about 1 hour. The times for the return trips are available in all resorts on Ko Mak. There are also several daily fishing boats to Ko Mak, duration about 3 hours. Because the departure and arrival times change quite often, please ask at the Laem Ngop Pier. At all piers on Ko Mak taxis are waiting that will bring you to the Koh Mak Villa. (October 2007. All information refer to high-season between November and May. Occasionally, due to high waves, the boats are unable to leave. Depending on the weather conditions, some boats may not leave to Ko Mak in low-season between June and October.) If you want to come directly from Bangkok to Ko Mak you have to start early to avoid spending a night on Ko Chang or at the mainland. If you come by plane you have to get the morning flight, otherwise you will not reach Ko Mak and the Koh Mak Villa at the same day. Until end of 2007 the taxis waiting at the airport in Trat only drove directly to Ko Chang but not to Laem Ngop Pier where the boats to Ko Mak leave. Then you either have to get a taxi on your own or book the pickup service offered from Koh Mak Villa: for 1500.- Baht per person you will be picked up by private taxi at the airport and brought directly to Koh Mak Villa on Ko Mak - please don't forget to mention it on the booking form. (The pickup service has to be paid on-site.) On request we can organize the boat transfer from Ko Chang to Ko Mak Pier (one way: 400 THB, return: 800 THB). Just type it into the field "Others" on the Hotel-Reservation Form!
